Our Maltese Katy has been seen and treated by the good people at the Hwy 6 Animal Hospital for almost 16 years. Today was her last visit to the vet, it was time for her to take her next journey and go where all good dogs go. When I called about the visit they scheduled me in this morning and from the time we entered the front door until the end, everyone was so kind and considerate. Dr. Driever took time to explain what was going to happen and how Katy would just go to sleep first and then pass without any discomfort or pain. I was allowed to stay with Katy for as long as I needed after he had injected the last drug. I'm glad they have it set up so there is a side door I could exit when I was ready to leave, it would have been very difficult to go through a busy waiting room without breaking down. It may seem foolish to some but Katy's ashes will come back to the family she loved and that loved her for a final farewell from the grand-kids and family. From my family to the staff at Hwy 6 Animal Hospital, thanks and God bless you all.
